Match Review LS17 | Perak FC 1-2 Selangor FC | Red Giants Triumph In El Classico Malaya

Selangor FC brought home three points from the Bandaraya Manjung Stadium with a 2-1 victory against Perak FC in the 17th match of the 2024/25 Super League yesterday.

Selangor FC import player, Alvin Fortes, scored two goals in the #PRKSFC match. His first goal in the 41st minute started from Alexander Agyarkwa's movement to pass the ball to Quentin Cheng on the right before Alvin Fortes made a run through the middle to score the first goal of the match. Although both teams made attempt after attempt, the first half ended with a result of 1-0. Alvin Fortes then exchanged three passes with Alexander Agyarkwa before scoring a 'first timer' goal in the 71st minute of the match. After that, Wan Zack Haikal, again did not miss the opportunity to score a goal against Selangor FC in the 88th minute. The match ended with a result of 1-2, but Quentin Cheng's goal in the 90+2 minute should be given credit even though VAR confirmed that the goal did not count.

According to Katsuhito Kinoshi, head coach of Selangor FC, he gave credit to all the players and was satisfied.

“To be honest, I could feel that yesterday’s game was going to be tough, and my prediction was right. However, the players gave their best and sacrificed a lot to get the three points. As a coach, I am satisfied with what they showed yesterday. Alvin Fortes is a very good player; although he scored two goals, his teammates played their respective roles, the goals would not have happened without all the players, so they should also be given credit. Perak FC played very well yesterday, and we acknowledge that. However, we are happy to get three points from this game.” Kinoshi explained.

Selangor FC continue the journey in the Malaysian League this Sunday, December 22nd, in the second Quarter-Final match of the Challenge Cup at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 9pm.

The management wants the team to continue the winning momentum until the end of the 2024/25 Malaysia League. Come on, Red Giants!
